In the coming months we will be filling this website with news about fund raising efforts, activities and money raised. We'll also be explaining why a statue to remember Ashton Gate's greatest player is so important at a time when the Club is on the verge of a new chapter at Ashton Vale and giving some background to the man himself for those of us too young to have seen him play. You can help by remembering to click your favourite online shops via the links here and on www.otib.co.uk. Some on-line purchases will raise more funds for the statue appeal than others. These are Trust produced items such as our books City Til I Die and 82 - The Year City Nearly Died, and our Raise a Statue to Atyeo logo branded goodies. The bulk of the ideas on this website generate revenue to the Trust through the shopping links which also appear on the City fans forum ( www.otib.co.uk). Purchasing goods on websites when you have clicked on them via these links generates a commission to the Trust. The items you buy and any special offers or promotional codes will still apply and cost the same as if you went to that website directly. The Trust has been funding the fans forum since 2006 and we have kept a record of the money we have spent and the money received via otib donations, advertising and commission. Unfortunately the costs have exceeded income by more than £1,000. Every penny that the Trust spends on the forum is a penny less that can go to the statue fund. So every penny extra you generate from buying via these links will be a penny extra towards the statue. And every penny will count. The site also explains how some of the links can give you great deals on other purchases such as hotel, travel, computers, mobile phones and insurance. With your support Bristol City fans can raise a statue to be proud of. |
